I recently stopped taking photos.

I could easily never take another picture and simply work on processing my collection of more than 60,000 digital images. Granted… 90% of them are not worth even looking at again. But that still leaves somewhere around 6,000 that may be useable. And when I say useable, I mean that I think I can create an artistically interesting image from them.

Here are the core questions I‘m attempting to answer for myself as I go clickless for a while:
- What role does the digital image that I created with the camera play in creating interesting art?
- To what extent does the camera quality, specs, technology, play in creating the final image?
- Is it possible to create interesting art using ‘adequate‘ technology?
- Do I need to take any more photos?
- Do I want to take more photos?

I do think that I‘ll have a clearer vision and possibly create more interesting and individual results if I come to any conclusions on the above and other questions.

The images on this post represent the first month’s worth of image processing. The original images come from my backlog of shots over the last several years as well as some more recent ones. They are the product of several different cameras - the specifics of which are irrelevant (to me at least).
